With two Olympic gold medals, four World Championship titles and too many marathon wins to count, Haile has broken national and international records time and time again. Now President of Ethiopian Athletics, the champion is focusing on promoting his country through his collection of luxury resorts.

On a hill overlooking Gondar, the resort has lovely views. The 56 en-suite rooms are made up of king size doubles, twins, singles and suites. All rooms have wooden floors, and brown and white décor, and include TV, telephone, minibar and safe. The suites are more spacious and have a sitting room that can be converted to a second bedroom with sofa-beds. The adjoining twin rooms can be added to form a family suite. Each floor has a sitting area with view.

The restaurant serves buffet and a la carte, including Chinese salad, fish soup, chicken Kiev, Ethiopian steak, and a selection of pizzas and pastas. There’s also a bar, café, coffee station and VIP dining room. The conference centre has a capacity of 1,500 pax. The swimming pool has sunbathing deck, children’s pool, children’s play area and snack bar.
