The ground floor sleeps 3, the 1st floor sleeps 3, and a veranda surrounds the whole house. Kaga Gojo, meaning Rose Abyssinica, has a raised loft bed and more beds below. The houses are constructed entirely of local materials using ancient building techniques, and have rocket mass heaters and attractive bamboo furniture. All houses have adjacent bathroom huts with compost loo and open-air shower.
Meals are homemade Ethiopian vegetarian food; guests are welcome to teach the cooks their favourite dishes. Activities including multi-day treks, mountain biking, horse riding, forest walks, wildlife spotting, learning local handicrafts, Ethiopian cooking courses, traditional farming, visiting the Saturday market, and training at the nearby Olympic runners’ centre.
