About Gondar Hills Resort

Established in 2019, Gondar Hills Resort is high on a hill with 360° views of the town and its surroundings. The resort, at the end of a winding cobbled drive, has been designed so its cottages, restaurant, swimming pool and gardens all have eye-catching views.

The 33 en-suite spacious stone cottages are set into the hillside. All cottages have whitewashed walls, wooden floors, wicker furniture, local art, heavy cream curtains and balconies with a view. Their large stone bathrooms have walk-in rain showers. The 2-level family cottages have a twin room and a double room.

The attractive restaurant has a veranda with lovely views and an inventive menu including Thai beef salad and injera burrito with beef. The bar has a selection of drinks and cocktails. The swimming pool, on the hilltop, has great views, sunbathing deck and pool bar serving drinks and snacks. The café has coffee and cakes; the meeting hall holds 100 pax. The landscaped gardens have 70 species of plants including five types of tea and a collection of herbs. Golf buggies are on site to carry people and their luggage to the cottages. Activities include visiting the castles of Gondar, known as the Camelot of Africa.
