The 82 en-suite rooms are made up of twins, doubles, suites and family rooms. The rooms, along long corridors, are adorned with traditional art and furnished with desk and intercom telephone. The suites include a living area, and the family rooms are more spacious and include an extra bed. The restaurant serves Ethiopian cuisine and a selection of international dishes, and can be booked for corporate parties and family functions. The hotel has a swimming pool with a deck overlooking Gondar, a children’s playground, a souvenir shop and a meeting room that seats up to 30 pax.
Activities include visiting the Imperial Castle Compound of Gondar, the castle of Empress Mentewab, the Bath of Emperor Fasiladas, and the churches of Quskuam Mariam and Debre Birhan Sillassie. Gondar was founded in 1636 by the Emperor Fassiladas, and is often referred to as the Camelot of Africa. Set in a landscape of striking mountains, it was the Royal Capital of Ethiopia until 1868. The castles and churches here, built by the Emperor and his descendants, have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
