A friendly refuge near the heart of Addis, Ghion Hotel has a history of hosting reputable guests including heads of state and VIPs. The hotel opened in 1951 and is set in a spacious tropical garden next to what was once the Jubilee Palace of Emperor Haile Selassie.
The 195 en-suite rooms are made up of singles, doubles, twins, medium suites and large suites. 103 of the rooms are in two large buildings; 64 are apartments of which 36 have their own kitchens; and 28 are bungalows. All rooms have Wifi. Tukul Restaurant serves Ethiopian cuisine; Bridge Restaurant serves a buffet of international dishes; both Unity House Restaurant and the Pool Bar and Restaurant serve a selection of Ethiopian and international dishes. The Health Club comprises a gym with fitness equipment, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi; aerobics classes and massage services are also on offer. The large swimming pool is staffed by lifeguards and swimming trainers; there’s also a mini pool and supervised playground for children.
The conference centre has 6 halls, with a capacity of between 70 and 500 pax, and offers secretarial services. The hotel also has a salon, barber shop, money exchange, ATM and a nightclub with a series of events like jazz nights and live theatre.
