A multi-level hotel set into the side of the hills sloping down to Lake Bishoftu, Pyramid Hotel has lovely views of the water and the surrounding hills. Bishoftu, also known as Debra Zeit, is popular with residents of Addis who often visit at weekends.

The 42 en-suite rooms are decorated in shades of ochre and cream, and furnished with chunky wooden furniture including a four-poster bed and traditional desk. All rooms are equipped with sofa, coffee table, TV, intercom telephone, hairdryer and toiletries. The suites include a living room and have a second bathroom with Jacuzzi.

Bishoftu Restaurant has a selection of Ethiopian dishes, and international dishes such as Indian chicken curry, pan seared Nile perch and surf and turf. The pool, overlooking the lake, has an adjacent restaurant, and the Volcano Grill and Juice Bar is a seasonal restaurant on the lakefront, suitable for corporate parties and family gatherings. There are also two well-stocked bars.

Olive Spa has a menu of treatments including Swedish massage, aroma massage, facial and bridal make-up. The four conference halls can accommodate from 20 to 220 pax. There are banking and ATM services on site, and a 24-hour concierge service. Childcare services are also available, as are services for visitors with disabilities.
