About Beer Garden Inn, Addis Ababa

In the prestigious Bole neighbourhood of Addis, Beer Garden Inn is not only a hotel, but a micro-brewery. The indoor brew house and the typically German beer garden make a welcome change in Addis. The beers are brewed under the German ‘Reinheitsgebot’ which dates to the 16th century. Using pure German barley, the beers brewed here taste authentic and truly German.

The 40 en-suite rooms are made up of singles, twins and doubles. All rooms have a satellite TV, desk, fridge, luggage rack, safe, toiletries and balcony. The restaurant and pub brewery serve Ethiopian cuisine, as well as some German dishes, and has an adjoining terrace. There’s also a garden and a terrace. The meeting rooms, on the 1st and 2nd floors, can accommodate from 5 to 100 pax. The business centre offers photocopying and faxing. The hotel has a sauna, a Jacuzzi and a pool table. Services include room service, babysitting, laundry, dry cleaning, currency exchange and shoe cleaning.

Highlights of Addis include Entoto Mountain, the previous capital of Ethiopia; Shiro Meda, the city’s largest market for traditional clothes; the Addis Ababa University’s ethnographic museum; and Merkato, said to be Africa’s largest open air market.
